KingZiLLa, producer, musician and all around artist, released haunting instrumental track "OMEN," and we got to chat with him about all that the song entails!
What inspired you to write another instrumental?
Well it just started off as writing a new tune, but it quickly became apparent that this would be something different nothing else required.
How long did it take for you to create "OMEN"?
It took a while actually because I would start writing then stop, then come back to it like 2 weeks later listen to it then I do nothing maybe come back again in a week or 2 put something else to it. It was all part of the process of getting where it is now.
How did you end up choosing the musical direction for the track?
I've always been a fan of some instrumentals where they let a drummer or guitar player do their thing for a minute so that's what is happening here. Basically freaking out having fun that's what it's all about at the end. It's making sure that what you are doing people can feel that you are having fun doing it.
What does this song mean to you personally?
There is a lot of emotions in this track in my opinion. It goes through so many variations kind of a happy vibe with a melody on top but yet a warning reminding you that there is something serious underneath it all. The drum solo definitely a bit of chaos which seems to be the tone of what's going on in our world right now. It just captures what I was feeling at the time which is a good thing a sound painting in a moment of time.
What do you want your fans to take away from the way "OMEN" was intended to make them feel?
I hope it puts them the listener into a state of thinking whan I listened to it I go deep in thought at times hearing the different sounds and textures, I think that's cool.
What's in the cards for you next?
Another new song for next month entitled POINT BREAK can't wait for you all to hear it, again something very different within the DUB-FUNK sound.
We can't wait to hear what's next.
